Raewyn Tumaki Designer

 

 Raewyn Tumaki - Fashion Designer born and bred in the small township of Kawerau in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Raewyn  has been designing Maori Designer clothing for over 6 years and has sold clothing successfully throughout New Zealand and Australia . 

Norwin New Zealand was created from a koha (gift) from my parents- Ngati Porou, Ngati Awa and Te Arawa descent.  Of which the start of Raewyn's vision to create a strong brand of Maori designer clothing came to being.  

 

Raewyn has worked in the clothing industry for 25 years as a seamstress & pattern maker, in production and sample rooms.  Raewyn's expertise  & credibility within the industry have  provided opportunities for her to work on film sets for Laundry warrior ( The warriors way)-producer Barrie Osborne lord of the Rings and Power Rangers, Jungle fury -Ranger Productions /BVS Entertainment /Walt Disney  Entertainment ,as a seamstress  in the costume department.

With a passion to create from colour, vision and style combined with the talents of Artists Peter Anderson and Jodie May.  Raewyn began to create collections which blended their unique forms of Maori contemporary artwork into limited edition  Maori designer clothing and accessories.

Raewyn states;
