Raewyn Tumaki

 

 Raewyn Tumaki - Fashion Designer born in the small township of Kawerau in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

I have been designing Maori Designer clothing for over 6 years and have sold clothing successfully throughout New Zealand,  Australia and now moving into the the USA. 

Norwin New Zealand was created from a koha (gift) from my parents- Ngati Porou, Ngati Awa and Te Arawa descent.  Of which was  the start of my vision to create a strong brand of  designer clothing.  

 

I have worked in the clothing industry for 26 years as a seamstress ,pattern maker & in production and sample rooms within the industry

These  have  provided opportunities for me to also  work on film sets for Laundry warrior ( The warriors way)-producer Barrie Osborne lord of the Rings and Power Rangers, Jungle fury -Ranger Productions /BVS Entertainment /Walt Disney  as a seamstress  in the costume department.

With a passion to create from colour, vision and style combined with the talents of Artists Peter Anderson and Jodie May. 

 I began to create collections which blended their unique forms of Maori contemporary artwork into limited edition  Maori designer clothing and accessories.
