As tempting as it is to have our clothing made overseas and increase profit  we believe the genuine product of made in New Zealand is what we Aim to keep as I believe having it made off shore losses that  true Genuine New Zealand identity   when using our native designs. We have talented machinist in this country as rare as they are who need support in such a dying Art  in sewing skills and Kiwis alike who need home based jobs in this Country  in which Im in great support off.

Even Tough our Raw materials come from off shore including Digitaly printed fabrics alike we aim to keep construction in our own country. When you buy a Whetui  product you are buying something made / printed in this Country

contrary to this you are buying a copy as we have had in the past, clothing shipped in from China using our designs.

please let us know if you do

The Lord bless and warm wises

Raewyn Tumaki

Inspiration for me comes from life itself. Elements of Colour, Silhouettes, visual aspects, time & age, textiles, cultural diversities & most of all a fusion of Contemporary Composition that add that New Zealand only touch to my collections.

My work carries that unique New Zealand flavour , a reminder of home sweet home.

“Aotearoa-Island of the long white cloud, the land of plenty.”

“ Fashion a timeless expression of the mind.”

I have worked in the clothing industry for 27 years working in various fashion houses ,cutting & sample rooms working on costumes for the NZ film industy and even as the cuppa tea maker. I believe you must be prepared to do the hard yards in this industry and along the way you will carefully but slowly begin to learn the trade from Others along your journey.I come From the  Bay Of plenty from a small town  call Kawerau where I grew Up  for 18 years of my life.Kawerau is always Home sweet home for me and I have many wonderful child hood memories there. My whanau are of Ngati Porou Ngati Awa and Te Arawa.
